About UTN
Uppsala Union of Science and Engineering Students, (short UTN) is a union for all students at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University. UTN is a non-political, non-profit organisation that work and act to safeguard the interests of the students. Membership of UTN is free and entitles you to get involved with everything the we have to offer. You find us at Uthgård, the red wooden house at Polacksbacken.

Study Welfare
Does the air in the classroom lack oxygen? Has a conflict arisen with a teacher? Or is safety procedures in one of the labs inferior? Then our student liaison welfare officer is there for you! Contact her at soc@utn.uu.se.
Academic Affairs and Educational Surveillance
We do not survey that the students are studying, however, one of our main concerns is to secure the quality of our education programmes and make sure that they remain good or become even better! Would you like to influence your education? E-mail utb@utn.uu.se.
Labour Market Affairs
Sooner or later your studies are finished and it is time to head out into the real world and look for a job. But why not start networking today? UTN offers a chance to get to know the labour market and the companies acting on the Swedish market. Our project group organises events and the annual Utnarm work fair where you can get involved and help out. They would love to hear from you!

International Affairs

Leisure
Your time here in Uppsala is so much more than just studies. Apart from spending time with your books learning and studying, you can also have lots of fun! UTN organize for example receptions for new Bachelors students and Masters students. There is also the river raft (and the river raft festival) every spring. Forsränningen - The River Raft
Every year at the end of April there is a big festival and a river raft in Fyrisån. There are people with flames on their overalls who are in charge of one of the biggest events in all of Uppsala. Teams of students design and build rafts to take them down Fyrisån on the last of April. Hopefully, they make it in one piece. The week before Valborg the students start building their rafts and the party gets started. You can see them at Polacksbacken and while enjoying a hamburger or a drink in the sun.
Introduction Weeks
You might have seen some people running around in capes and sunglasses and weird hair cuts. You might have wondered who they are. They are called Rekå and are the leaders of the introduction weeks for the new Bachelor students. They start preparing the reception one year in advance to be sure the 800 or so new Bachelors will receive and introduction they will never forget. There is also a reception for our Masters students, who come from all over the world.
