Your liaison officers

UTN's Student Liaison Officers

UTN has four full time working Student Liaison Officers who are responsible to represent the students in boards and faculties making decisions regarding issues related to all study programs. In addition to this work they also have different responsibilitys.

By representing a specific area, UTN's central Student Liaison Officers together cover the areas important for the Union. If you have questions or concerns related to any of these areas you can contact the responsible Student Liaision Officer. Each Student Liaison Officer is also responsible for a standing committee. In the standing committee representatives from the sections working in the same area as the Student Liaison Officer gather to discuss common issues and find cooperation opportunities.

This is an form to contact the student liaison officers if there are something during your education that doesn’t work or if you need help in a specific case. It can be about a course, your working environment or anything else related to your studies. The system in which the case is registered in is owned by Uppsala Studentkår. The student liaison officers use this system to work easier and better with your case and we never share your information with anyone without your consent. You find the form here:


Educational issues 

The Union has two Student Liaison Officers with responsibility for educational issues that works with issues regarding the quality of your education. This work involve to ensure that the teaching in your education are at a good educational level. Issues regarding examination, such as time limits for for correction of exams, are handled by this Student Liaison Officer. The Student Liaison Officer with responsibility for educational issues is also helping students in specific cases when they got problems regarding their education.

Student welfare issues 

The Student Liaison Officer with responsibility for student welfare issues is working to make sure that you feel good and is treated fairly during your studies. This work involve issues about your study environment, such as how many study rooms there are or if there is ventilation in the classrooms.This Student Liaison Officer also works with equality, psycho social issues and is responsible for UTN's policies. The Student Liaison Officer with responsibility for student welfare is also helping students in specific cases when they got problems regarding to their welfare.

Labour market issues & International issues

The Student Liaison Officer with responsibility for labour market issues is working with issues regarding work relations in your education. This work involve to ensure that your education is preparing you for start working by for example guest lectures or study visits. In addition to this the Student Liaison Officer with responsibility for labour market issues is working with promoting the various educational programs competencies to labour market representatives and is also responsible for the alumni activities.

The union's international work involves issues regarding the international students and international exchanges. This work involves the inclusion of international students in the student democracy and expose our activities to them, both in the educational issues and in our social events. International issues are driven by the union's Student Liaison Officer with educational responsibilities for the science programs because most of the international students at the faculty are studying among these courses.

University central student monitoring issues

The President of the Union works actively on issues at the university-wide central level. These are, for example, issues that concern the entire university and the university management. This work includes representing the students' opinions on issues such as how the university's funds should be distributed and focus issues they should pursue. The union president also works closely with the other student unions active at Uppsala University through the cooperative association Uppsala University's united student unions. Thereby, university-central student representatives are appointed and various referral responses are written.

The section's liaison officers

The section's student liaison officers are there as an support for you and you are more then welcome to visit the program-educational councils they organize to improve your education. They can conduct many of your opinions towards the program and even on higher instances if necessary both in the student union and the university.

Your education program is both guarded on a local and central level. On the local there is a program specific maintenance at the associated sections. All programs are represented at a section with their own liaison officers maintain student educational interests. The associated section works in many different ways but all has students represented in their specific program advisory board at their department and the unions standing committees.

A programs advisory board is lead by the program coordinator and consists of the students representatives and other selected educational coordinators from the university. The board discuss everything from course evaluations, how the course is executed, the structure of the program itself and the development of these areas.
